The blue foam lifter is designed to secure 1/4ml straws in the slots, and minimise convection within the chamber core.

The 60 ampoule cryochamber is designed to hold up to 60 x 1.0ml screwtop (internal thread) ampoules (12 x 42 mm, ). Each ampoule is individually accessible.
The chamber is supplied with our large 3.8 litre CryoBath. It is designed to replace 1°C/minute freezing in refrigerators as used by microbiology labs (freezing bacterial cultures), and is suitable for controlled-rate freezing for storage of tissues - plant and animal.

Each slot may contain:
1 x 1ml Cryovial
1 x 2ml Cryovial

If only a few ampoules are being frozen it is recommended that they be distributed evenly, aiding thermal uniformity.
