Now with the Centra-CL2, IEC introduces not only the Clinical's direct replacement, but also a unit that is one of the most promising low cost centrifuges on the market today in its own right. While it offers the same proven reliability and rugged performance as the Clinical, the Centra-CL2 features such important improvements as a cover interlock, an electronic timer, variable speed control, and a variety of convenient aerosol containment options. A new glove-friendly membrane control panel is easy to use and to clean, and it features digital readouts for time and speed. Improved Performance Demanded by Today's Needs The Centra-CL2 is equipped with a user interface as advanced as the rest of the unit's updated features. Microprocessor control allows for accuracy, dependability, and repeatability of runs. Speed and time are easily adjusted with a simple touch of the arrows on the membrane control panel. In addition to performing conventional timed runs, the 30-minute electronic timer features an "At Speed" option (see below) and a hold mode for extended runs.
Tthe "At-Speed" Timer
The Centra-CL2 has a convenient feature in the "At-Speed" Timer. With a single command, the microprocessor-controlled clock starts timing when the rotor reaches 95% of set speed, instead of at the beginning of the run. There is no need to "guesstimate" and add on the acceleration time to the protocol. No more guesswork - just accurate results!
